With very low permeability and good creep behavior salt rock cave can store oiland gas. Its mechanical performance is relatively stable, and it has the recovery ability.Salt rock can adapt to the change of gas pressure. The salt rock cave is recognized as theideal place to store oil and gas by all around the world. In our country west-east gastransmission project, salt rock gas storage cave is an important engineering facility.Although salt rock gas storage cave is very important for our country, because of its gasstorage capacity and located, the risk of it is very serious. Therefore, researching the saltrock gas storage cave has become an important goal.Due to the process of injection and recovery gas of the salt rock storage cavern, itis necessary to investigate the fatigue property of salt rock. Salt rock cave is locatedunder the ground, so the fatigue property of it is influenced by the temperature, theconfining pressure and the injection or recovery gas rate. This paper researches thefatigue property of salt rock storage gas cave from the following aspects:(1) By changing the upper and lower limit stress of cyclic load to study the fatigueproperty of salt rock under the axial stress condition.(2) By changing the rate of cyclic load to study the fatigue property of salt rockunder the axial stress condition.(3) By changing the experiment temperature to study the fatigue property of saltrock under the axial stress condition.(4) By changing the confining pressure to study the fatigue property of salt rockunder the triaxial stress condition.(5) The fatigue damage in each cycle is researched by the acoustic emissiontechnology, which is to test the above discussion and conclusion.(6) According to the experimental data, an artificial neural network predictionmodel is established to evaluate the safety of salt rock storage gas cave withthe help of matlab software.
