| In recent years, earthquakes have occurred frequently, which have brought greatlosses to people’s lives, wealthy and safety. The investigation and analysis on thedestruction of buildings in the earthquake-hit areas is an effective measure to validate andimprove the structural design. After Wenchuan Earthquake, we found that the destructionof frame column is a crucial point to influence the overall damage of structure through agreat amount of investigations and analysis on the damage feature of frame structure.Based on the viewpoint, this paper analyzes and researches a typical frame structure togain the impact of Frame Column to the resisting collapses ability of frame structure.This paper includes:1) designing the typical frame in the light of the currentstandards;2) assessing the resisting progressive collapse performance of the structure withthe linear static analysis method;3) analyzing the resisting lateral performance andassessing the ability of anti-collapse of the frame structure with the nonlinear staticanalysis method.According to the research, the design of typical frame structure based on the currentstandards has the ability of progressive collapse resistance which is determined by theframe beam. We also found that the structure cannot ensure the “strong column weakbeam†yield mechanism and the lateraldisplacement ofthe bottom weak layer will emerge.When the frame column stiffness of the bottom layer increases to double than the originalstructure, the displacement of vertices will be a quarter of the original displacement;When it increases to triple than the original structure, the displacement of vertices willdecrease to one fifth of the original displacement. When the frame column of the structureloses effectiveness, the resisting lateral ability will decrease30%. |
