It is urgent to find a new way to get energy instead of traditional ways in currenttime when people are facing the crises caused by fossil energy again and again and theenvironment has been increasingly seriously damaged. Because of its unique advantages,the wind power technology stands out in numerous new energy technologies and is nowbeing increasingly applied to the field of power generation.Over the last decade, wind power has being taken more and more shares in thepower generation field. At the same time, wind turbines evolved from small capacitynon-grid system in the early age to nowadays megawatt class large capacity grid system.The grid connection technology developed from constant speed and frequency to currentpopular variable-speed constant frequency (VSCF). In the VSCF, turbine absorbs the windenergy by blades and converts to electricity after speeded up by gear. The doubly fedconverter regulates and filters generated electricity and then connects it to the grid.Therefore, the core technology of wind power generation is the converter. Its efficiencyand reliability will affect the system performance and wind farm investment.This thesis researched the key technology of DFIG converter and expounded thedesign of partly circuit. The main contents are as followed:1. Research on the converter design requirement. The main function of converter isto automatically control excitation current in rotor to control the system outputcurrent.2. Realize the design according to the requirement. First is to design the wholecircuit block diagram. Second is to divide it into power supply, DIFG convertersystem main circuit and converter these three functional blocks. Design detaileddiagrams according to these three parts.3. According to the converter equivalent circuit, calculate circuit parameters toselect the mainly component such as main circuit breaker, contactor and IGBT.
