The pulse power technology application scope are more and more wide, it hasextended from the initial research and the military field to the medical, industry, education,civil, and other fields. It is a very dynamic emerging disciplines. Capacitor is the mostcommon primary energy storage device used in the pulse power system. Developinghigh-performance high voltage capacitor is very important. High frequency convertercapacitor power supply has many advantages, such as, high output voltage accuracy andstability, easy to control the output voltage, and little impact to the capacitance, availableto extend the service life of the capacitor. It is the development direction of the highvoltage capacitor charging power supply. Nowadays commonly used high frequencyconverter charging power supply, such as series resonant charging power supply,hasmany power devices, and it’s structure is complex. That is not suitable for the topology ofthe high voltage capacitor charging power supply with low power and low input voltage.This paper puts forward a simple and reliable high voltage capacitor charging powersupply based on the push-pull forward topology, which is suitable for low voltage highcurrent input occasions, like airborne high voltage capacitor charging power supply.This paper first analyzes the push-pull forward charging electric circuit in depth, andanalyzes the operation of all circuit modes with or without the circulation. The simulationresults show the validity of the theoretical analysis. Combining with the formula andsimulation analysis, the paper analyzes the influence that the ground-clamp capacitanceand inductance size, the frequency, the transformer and the charging voltage caused to thethe input current, charging electric current and the pulse of the ground-clamp capacitance.Then the author designs the circuit structure and selects the main parameters, andemphatically analyzes the high frequency high voltage transformer design. The author alsodesigns the control circuit, including the sampling, protection and drivers circuit.In the end, the author designs and develops a prototype of1kW28V/±15kV thepush-pull forward charging power supply, and the experimental results proved the circuitanalysis and simulation that put out in the front of the paper.
