With the continuous development of the highway tunnel, tunnelengineering is becoming more and more large-scaled, and the distance is longerthan before. Inclined shaft will not only increase tunnel working faces toaccelerate the construction schedule during the construction period, but alsoserve as a ventilation duct and escape way during the operation period.Therefore, inclined shaft occupies an important position in the long highwaytunnel, it is necessary to conduct a systematic study on the benefit evaluation ofinclined shaft in highway tunnel.This paper conducted a systematic study on the segmentation technologyof air duct fork and comprehensive benefits of inclined shaft in highway tunnel,based on the organizing and analysis of relevant information and the problemsof tunnel inclined shaft during the construction and operation period. Researchincluded these following contents: ventilation inclined shaft duct fork splittingtechnology, inclined shaft design and construction, construction organizationoptimization on the tunnel through inclined shaft and comprehensive benefitevaluation: (1)For the segmentation technology of the longitudinal ventilation inclinedshaft duct fork, the paper provided the structural forms of duct fork--the threepieces form and the four pieces form, using the views of topology. At the sametime,it discussed the applicability of the various structural forms, and provideddesigning guidance for the segmentation of such highway tunnel ventilationoblique shaft duct fork.(2) The paper introduced relevant issues about the designing andconstruction of inclined shaft in detail, elaborated the method of optimizationtunnel construction. On the basis of explaining the construction organizationcharacteristics of inclined shaft, it analysed the principle and method of tunnelconstruction organization though inclined shaft, and also make a numericalexample of construction organization optimization to validate the results and itsimportance.(3).The paper explained the principles to establish the inclined (vertical)shaft comprehensive benefit evaluation index system.Taking full account of thesocial benefits, economic benefits and environmental benefits of inclined(vertical) shaft during the construction period and operation period, then inducted, sorted and filtered them, set up this system. This article also combinedthe Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluationmethod to establish the comprehensive evaluation model of inclined (vertical)shaft.
