| With the development of modern society, increased productivity and the rapid advance ofscience and technology, bridge technology has been increasingly mature. Because oftopographical constraints, more and more completed or under construction highway bridgesuse high pier or ultra-high pier as common form of the piers. With great height, strongflexible and geometric nonlinearity, more and more problems highlighted in the process ofbridge operation. The calculation method of high pier involved less home and abroad. Fromthe initial design to the bridge in using or, the bridge operation, bridge reinforcement, testingand maintenance, bridge safety, stability, driving comfort becomes a factor that must beconsidered. Displacement on the top of pier is an important indicator of the mechanicalproperties, so the research is of great significance. At present, there are significant limitations for the displacement on the top of pier, because of the commonly used statics algorithm which does not consider the force of the pieras a factor of horizontal displacement on the top of the pier. Horizontal displacement formulais too complex by the energy method often not available which does not have the calculationconditions in the field.Based on the background above, this paper derived horizontal displacement of high pier,by selecting the appropriate pier model and using Rayleigh-Ritz and energy principle. And todo some more improvements on the basis of the formula, this paper proposed a practicalformula to calculate the horizontal displacement on the top of pier. Using the finite elementanalysis software ANSYS for modeling analysis, contrast the difference in the calculation ofthe three methods of the different height of piers, the pier diameter, bearing stiffness and theforce under different geometrical and mechanical conditions to verify the validity of theformula and accuracy. In the calculation process, by comparing the different parameters onthe displacement, this paper summarizes an effective way to control of the horizontaldisplacement on the top of pier. |
