| The human society has experienced rapid development in the pastyears, which in turn drives the interdependency between human beingsand earth resources to be on the verge of collapse. The land resourceswhich provide main production and subsistence materials for humansociety, tends to be scarce, especially in coastal areas. The developmentin coastal areas often relies on exploiting land resources next to the ocean,and land reclamation is the most common way. Dredger fill is a specialkind of soil, whose engineering properties can be influenced by manyfactors, given that the dredger fill in different areas is such different thatthe engineering properties of dredger fill show great differences.Therefore, it is reasonable to adjust the engineering measures of dredgerfill to local conditions and be cost-effective. However, the creep propertyof dredger fill will give rise to adverse impacts on the upper structureconstruction safety, which makes our research on ground treatments andupper works security for dredger fill have great significance.The research object of this article is the dredger fill of one bridge inHangzhou Bay area. In this regard, firstly, this study focuses on thedeformation features and treatment of dredger fill foundation. Moreover,the treatment will be evaluated with the method of numerical simulation.Finally, this research will analyze impact of creep characteristics ofdredger fill on the safety of upper structure construction. The main resultsof this research are as follows: (1) Through the settlement observation without additional stress andheaped load test over the filed site to study the settlementdeformation of dredger fill, it is proved that dredger fill blownrecently has high sedimentation rate and shows linear creepcharacteristics in short period.(2) Basing on the engineering properties of dredger fill over the filedsite and some technical&economic factors, PHC pile method isdesigned to strengthen the dredger fill foundation. CombiningPHC pile method with numerical simulation program, this studyhas completed evaluation of the treatment.(3) By studying the safety situation of the concrete box girderplacement over the dredger fill foundation, in consideration of theconcrete form and time-varying settlement value with the creepcharacteristics, this research has found that the upper structureconstruction can be adversely affected. In this case, this article hasproposed some improvement suggestions for related constructiontechnology. |
