Water-lubricated bearing with its huge potential in environmentalprotection, energy conservation and sustainable development has graduallyreceived more and more attention. But there is no ideal theory to explainthe mechanism of lubrication, bearing capacity of the water-film andstructural features of the water-lubricated bearing. So the general method isto use the oil-lubricated bearing design theory to solve the water-lubricatedproblem. But that will introduce many errors because of the differencessuch as low viscosity, turbulence and cavitation.This thesis introduces a method to study the water-film bearingcapacity: Based on the CFD software Fluent, study pressure distributionand static bearing capacity of the water-film by considering the turbulenceand cavitation and build the mechanical model of the film. Make thedynamic analysis by Matlab, calculate the orbit of shaft center under thewater-film force and load. Study the amplitude and frequency of the vortexand the dynamic bearing capacity of the film.By using the method, this thesis also analyzes the influence of journalspeed, bearing clearance and sink of water lubricated bearing on water-filmbearing capacity and find the change rule of the water-film bearingcapacity with these factors. It provided a theoretical foundation for water-lubricated bearing structure design.
