The squirrel-cage induction motor is the main drive executing components inmodern mechanical engineering. Whether it normal work or not will directly relate to itssafety and reliability in modern mechanical engineering. Broken rotor bar is a commonfault-type of motor, which will brings serious damage to motor and the fault is hard todetect. Therefore, the research on the fault diagnosis technique of broken rotor bar is forthe purpose of timely and accurately detection, in case it deteriorates. The research hasgreat theoretical significance and economic benefit.The article firstly expatiated the study state at home and abroad of fault diagnosistechnology about broken rotor bar. Through the analysis on the fault principle andestablished the theory foundation of faults diagnosis via current spetrum method. Theanalysis on the finite element simulation models highlights the effects from slip. It isdifficult to detect the broken rotor bar fault feature component as it always hides behindthe strong supply frequency component in the spectrum of the stator current. Aiming atthe shortage of IIR notch filter for power frequency automatic tracking, by introducingadaptive notch filter based on LMS algorithm, and complete to power frequencyautomatic tracking. Its reliability is verified by computer simulation. To improve thefault diagnosis accuracy of broken rotor bar, a new fault diagnosis method of the brokenrotor bar based on the adaptive notch filter and the Hilbert–huang transform wasproposed. Through this method can be used to achieve the precise identification of thebroken rotor bar in the special marginal spectrum. In order to solve the problem ofconvergence speed, dynamic tracking ability, steady-state error and algorithmcomplexity based on the traditional LMS algorithm. We analysis widely used kinds ofVS-LMS algorithm. The paper designs the fault diagnosis simulation system of thebroken rotor based on LabVIEW. It will finish the optimizing selection of VS-LMSalgorithm for failure diagnosis.Finally, on the basis of above studies, the paper designsthe fault diagnosis system of the broken rotor bar based on TMS320F2812andLabVIEW, which realizes effective fault diagnosis for broken rotor bar.
