The object of this paper is masonry and frame structure buildings. They are used toresearch their consumption of materials, such as concrete, steel and block. Strive onthe basis worked by predecessors, the purpose of this disquisition is to identify therelative relationship between the type of material consumption and building structure.At the same time, it’s also to attain the proposed estimation model applicable to thegeneral case.The model is divided into two types: the linear regression model and parametercalculation model. The linear regression model is established from the statistical dataof building materials consumption. By data fitting methods, a linear model can beused to estimate the consumption of building materials. Parameter calculation modelis a study of buildings split into various types of monomer components, respectively,to study each type of component attributes (parameters) and establish functions aboutits material consumption. After calculating each monomer component, the calculationresults is added to the overall building materials consumption data.After establishing, the validity of two models will be verified by the real examples,respectively. And the next step is decided whether it’s needed to improve the models.According to establishment and analysis by the actual projects, it can be proved thattwo models have each advantage for different purposes. Especially, the result ofparameter calculation model, with good accuracy, is very close to the actual data. As aconclusion, the model is of great practical significance.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected on two aspects:On one hand, the proposed estimation model is applied to China’s actualconsumption of building materials, which is different from the qualitative analysis ofprevious similar research articles, but also to distinguish it from foreign researcharticles derived analytical model based on the foreign project.On the other hand, the establishment and analysis of the process parametercalculation model, the innovations include: use area ratio of window to wall tocalculate the consumption of the outside wall of the block; use the relationshipbetween the known number of piles and bearing platforms to calculate the volume ofbearing platforms (concrete consumption), when known the number of piles; to breakthe previous component calculation process isolated situation, identify a fixed relationship between them and the common law; in order to use less parameters toattain materials consumption data from the information of the building.
