The Daxinganling range is one of the major segregated frozen ground areas inChina, the permafrost of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is mainly distributed inthis area. Since China’s Western Development, Inner Mongolia’s highwayinfrastructures is developing in very fast speed, however, there were many problemsoccurred in this area. The experience of construction in segregated frozen groundregions has provided goodreference forthe highwayconstructions inother regions, andit is an important guidance to environment protection and science research in frozenground areas in China.The construction of Bo-Ya expressway were taken as the engineering cases in thisarticle, the construction technology of segregated frozen ground area were studiedseparately. They were technology of Subgrade different settlement in patchypermafrost area and the application of the foamed mixture light weight soil heatinsulation technology. They were proved by monitoring observations at later stage.These construction technologies in segregated frozen ground area ensured thetemperature stability of the ground and the stability of settlement of highway subgradein the frozen ground area.
