The quality of outside coverings directly influence the quality of body, and furthereffect the consumers’ first impression to the car, so it is quite an important part of thequality insurance. However, in actual production conditions, there may cause all kinds ofdefects, which will bring bad influence to the quality of the outside covering. Springbackis the most common one of all the surface defects, and it will result in another kind ofdefect--surface distortion, so how to control and eliminate this two kinds of defects is thepuzzle confused the producer for a long time. Springback is the most common one of allthe surface defects, and it will result in another kind of defect--surface distortion, so howto control and eliminate this two kinds of defects is the puzzle confused the producer for along time. The conventional way to avoid these kinds of defects mainly rely on theexperience of the workers, and also need to testing the mould many times to eliminate thedefects. This kind of way to eliminate the defects is quite inefficient, and will make thecost soaring and prolong the developing time. With the rapid developing of finite elementsmethod(FEM),many researcher try to use FEM to simulate the forming process andpredict the defects. On the efforts of the researchers, several software with FEM tosimulate the forming process have been developed. As an important part of FEM software, the post-process system has not attracted enough attention. Most of them do not have thefunction to detect the surface distortion, and on showing the springback, the result issimple. So, they can not conduct the real production process.Considering this situation, this paper develop a system to detect the surface distortionand also upgrade the springback display function. So that the system can detecting thesurface distortion and show the springback in a better way. The project is part of NationalNatural Science Fund Project(No.50905067) and Major National Science and TechnologyProgram (No.2010ZX04014-072).This paper propose a principle that can be used in real engineering situation, anddevelop an corresponding algorithm. Through comparing the simulation results with theexperiments photos, we found the precision of simulation is nice, and the algorithm isefficient. This paper develop a function that make the selection intellectualized through usingthe node filter, provide the users an interface to define the display color so that they coulddefine their own defect principle, upgrade the display of springback, provide a tool to theusers so that they could measuring the springback in their own way, and develop afunction to export the springback information, so make the data sharing more convenient.
