Interior Permanent Magnet Machine is favored by electric vehicle and hybridvehicle drive train systems, due to its high torque density, wide operation range and highefficiency compared with other types of motor. Not limited to this,it is also the interestsof research domestic and abroad. In industrial applications, operation efficiency andtorque dynamics are system critical factors. Hence how to maximize the torque capabilityof motor and achieve fast torque response is critical to quality.In order to effectively validate control algorithm, interior permanent magnetmachine motor is modeled taking harmonics into account. High Torque Dynamic requiresfast current response,and a current regulator incorporating decoupled, disturbancesuppressed features are introduced in the thesis. Parameters of Proportion-Integralregulator are chosen using Internal Model Control theory. Anti-windup mechanism toavoid saturation of integration is also taken into account, which is achieved by backcalculation method. Operation limits of interior permanent magnet machine are analyzeddeliberately, giving stability constraints. After reviewing all the techniques offield-weakening, a novel field weakening algorithm based on voltage feedback isintroduced. Maximum torque per ampere control worked seamless with field weakeningalgorithm to empower full speed range operation. Field weakening gain is chosen byanalyzing the characteristic polynomial of state space incorporating the field weakeningcontroller after linearization. With systematical research on velocity estimation method,speed observer is implemented on estimating velocity, and it offers advantage in noisescancellation and phase margin over traditional one. Internal model control is applied onspeed controller design featured with active damping and anti-windup as well.In company with theory analysis and design, a series of simulation is implanted onMATLAB, which validates the algorithm stated by the thesis.
