The hydro unit in power plant,especially in large-size plants,will occurs all types offaults and generate much alarm information when the power plant works. The alarm is thedirect signal to the hydro unit’s performance decreased,therefore,the appropriate handlingof the alarm or not is directly related to the safe of the equipment and even of the powerplant and the grid. In order to make the alarm signal can be timely and efficient processing,while it scoops out, the paper seeks for the research on equipment code and parametersnumbering oriented management of alarm information for hydropower units.The study bases on HOMIS (Hydro Power Plant Optimal Maintenance InformationSystem), which has a lot of data about Gezhouba and valuable experience since have beenput into operation.14F Generator in DJ-power plant has been choose to verify thefeasibility.Firstly, the paper discusses management of alarm information for hydropower units.Secondly, the paper institutes coding rules for the Gezhouba power plant, which providesconvenience for information management for power plant and positioning quickly afteralarming; and a series of numbering rules for the parameters is developed, which enrichesthe alarm information and provides a basis to find out the cause of alarm. Finally the paperputs forward applications about the system, and discusses about way to achieve some ofapplications, by combining with equipment code and the parameters numbering.
