For a small agricultural diesel engine, optimizing the working process is the mainmethod to improve diesel engine performance. In this process, the intake system producesimportant effects on the combustion progress. The air flow of in the intake andcompression produces an important effect on the process of fuel atomization/mixtureformation and combustion. In this paper, simulation on the air flow of intake andcompression process of the swirl chamber type supercharged diesel engine. In this paper, the entity including intake and exhaust port, valve, swirl chamber wasestablished by using3D drawing software UG, the use of meshing tools FAME of FIER,the entity grid was established to calculation, and the use of FAME’FEP functions intomoving grid. The initial and boundary conditions was analyzed to in the three dimen-sional flow calculations, it was required to determine the boundaries. In order to get used to simulate calculation of initial and boundary conditions, theauthor made a experiment with the aircraft performance, with the ICE performancesimulation software GT-POWER, the diesel engine’s working process is calculated. Theresults can be used for CFD calculate.Using the CFD simulation software FIRE to research the intake/compressionprocess’s the gas flow of a swirl chamber turbocharged diesel engine. The velocity field, pressure field and turbulent energy with the crank angle change were calculated. The workwas studied on the gas flow in in-cylinder and the swirl chamber during compress stage. In addition, also carried out with the valve timing and modify the connecting channel, tocomparing the gas flow parameters in cylinder. The simulation results can be furtheroptimized single-cylinder S185K engine structure, performance parameters and provide atheoretical reference.
