With the global economy development, large-scale interconnection hasbeen an inevitable trend in worldwide power systems. A lot of issues onsystem security and stability are raising up while the expanded scale of thepower system are making the generation and transmission more economicand efficient.The excitation system of generator is always one of the mosteconomical and effective methods to improve the power system stability.Most of these existing works are concentrated on network with completelycertain topological structure, which is made of some specific networkparameters. Since it does not consider the uncertain topology property ofcomplex power grid, we need to make further investigations.In this paper, a weighing factor is introduced into classical powersystem model to denote the interconnected-status between generator units.And a new class of nonlinear uncertain model is firstly presented. For thismodel, a robust control strategy is brought in. Simulation results illustratethe effectiveness of the controller in dealing with the uncertain topology ofthe system.Then on the basis of the complex network theory, this paper introducesthe concept of node-degree, which denotes the network topology, to presenta weighted simplied power grid model. By differential geometric feedback approach, this model is linearized and then a kind of H∞robust controlstrategy is introduced for excitation controller.For the multimachine power system with SVC equipment, thecoordinator controller of SVC and generator excitation is also proposed. Inthe last part of this paper, the structure preserving model of multimachinepower system based on differential algebraic theory is introduced briefly andthe related model which considers the uncertain network topology isconstructed.
