Combustion engine is the most widely used thermodynamic machinery in the world, application scope including agriculture, industry, transportation, national defense and other fields. The heat release from the fuel combustion, the engine loss quantity of heat to total quantity of heat of65%-70%, in order to save the limited energy, and reduce greenhouse gas CO2emissions, the aspect of energy saving about combustion engine and environmental protection performance which been put forward more and more strict requirements.Fuel combustion in cylinder of a quantity of heat, which turn into a quantity of mechanical work in certain thermal efficiency, but internal combustion engine in the operation process had to overcome the internal mechanical friction, fluid resistance and drive some necessary auxiliary equipment, which loss off part of the mechanical work, this part of the loss is called the mechanical loss. To improve the power of the diesel engine performance and economic performance is to save fuel, improve the energy efficiency is one of the most important ways, so analytic diesel mechanical loss power part is one of the important contents of research work for the engine performance, find out the influence mechanical loss power size factors and their influential degree, and find out the way to reduce the mechanical loss power.This paper uses fall tow method, to measure and analysis the diesel engine internal friction pair of friction work, and through the oil change, measurement methods of single cylinder friction, change the equipment status, medium and conditions, comprehensive analysis of diesel engine internal friction work. This comprehensive analysis for internal combustion engine mechanical loss power, find out the factors of influence mechanical loss power and their influential degree, and the method to reduce mechanical loss, the main conclusions obtained are as follows:(1) Developed based on the crank shaft torque friction work of measurement experiment platform can simulate the normal work of the diesel engine of the typical environment, including diesel engine,power control system,measure system and cooling system.The platform can measure diesel engine power unit friction work.(2) When the lubricating oil does not change, the experimental data can be obtained as the temperature increases, crank shaft torque single ring friction work is decreasing, and the viscosity of oil is better than low viscosity oil more consumption mechanical work.(3) Due to the increase of the inertial force will directly lead to diesel engine internal each operation unit pressure and load increases, the friction pair work of consumed will become big, therefore with the increase of the crankshaft speed, friction work is gradually increasing.
