This thesis studied the simulation of the flexible beam motion by using absolutenodule coordinate to meet the demand of curving and unfolding of flexible beam. Firstof all, simulation analysis was performed to the flexible pendulum and flexiblecantilever by using the classical absolute nodal coordinate method. And the result showsthe applicability of the simulation algorithm. Then a dynamics model was establishedfor the common carbon fiber composites and the material was measured through anexperiment. After that we compared the result of simulation with the result of theexperiment. The comparison result indicates that the absolute nodal coordinate cansimulate the actual structure of materials more accurately and can simulate the actualmotion better. Third the absolute nodal coordinate equation with internal damper matrixwas introduced and the simulation analysis of dynamics model was established. Theresult shows that by controlling the damper property a better unfolding effect can beachieved which laid a good foundation for the further application of this method.Finally constraint conditions were included in the absolute nodal coordinate equation toestablish a group dynamics model for flexible beam system and a simulation analysiswas conducted. The simulation result validated the good effectiveness of this method.
