Distribution network is an important part of power system directly facing consumers. Reactive power optimizing problem takes a super important role in protecting the secure operation of network and power supply. The voltage is an important part of the electric quality. Some research work of voltage reactive power optimization control of region network has been done in order to improve the voltage quality. Reactive power compensation is analyzed based on the situation and characteristic of Tongliao’s grid. At first Analysis of the method of reactive power compensation within the substation is done. And then the thesis proposed the method of determination of reactive power compensation point and hierarchical reactive power compensation in overall power system. At last distributed power’s active compensation combined with capacitor’s Reactive power compensation is used to improve the voltage quality in the condition that the voltage can’t achieve the qualified value only through reactive power compensation.The content of this thesis are arranged as follows:1. Based on the reading of the power system connection diagram, an online topology method of reactive power is proposed. The path from the bus load node to the equivalent power node is gotten on line based on the connection of components. Through this method, the electrical distance from load bus node to equivalent power node could be gotten. Application and programming of topology for reactive power are used in Tongliao grid connection diagram of power system.2. The determination method of reactive power compensation points through voltage collapse and torque resistance is proposed. On the basis, the method of zoning classification of the overall power system taking into account influence of different levels’voltage is proposed. This method can make reactive power compensation in block according the voltage level and areas of transmission and distribution electric networks. Also reactive power compensatin can be connected as a whole considering the effects of the different grid voltage. Solving process is gived too. Finally, the proposed method is applicated in Tongliao grid.3. The method of installation of distributed power for active compensation is proposed in the condition that only reactive cmpensation can’t make voltage reach the required value. The need of the introduction of distributed generation is analysed by mathematical model, and the impacts of distributed generation to the voltage of distribution network are described through Simulation. Finally, examples of16node grids and a substation of Lu in Tongliao show that the appropriate compensation of active power is important to voltage under the condition that reactive load is too heavy and a separate compensation of reactive power can not have reached the purpose of adjusting voltage.
