With the development of national economy and power electronics technology,Power electronic devices are widely used, which makes the voltage quality andharmonic issues become more prominent, the grid harmonic pollution problem receivedextensive attention. Active power filter (APF) is the effective management of pollutionand grid harmonics and reactive power compensation of the ideal of a device, so moreand more attention at home and abroad and research.Paper introduces the research background of APF and significance and the researchstatus at home and abroad. It summarized to explain the harmonic pollution andgovernance issues. Describes the active power filter and the basic working principle ofthe main circuit, in this connection from the grid in terms of active power filters havebeen classified, outlines how they work and the circuit structure and gives athree-phase three-wire shunt active power filter mathematical model and analysis of itsstructure and working principle of the main circuit. Then described in detail p-qharmonic current detection method andi p iqharmonic current detection methodbased on the instantaneous reactive power theory,analysis of the voltage waveformdistortion on the impact of harmonic detection methods, and brief description of thelow-pass filter selection. Verify the effect of harmonic current algorithm by using ofMATLAB simulation software. Several control methods about active power filter areintroduced. By learning RBF neural network algorithms and ant colony optimizationalgorithm,We combines ant colony optimization algorithm and RBF neural network andoptimize the neural network to improve the whole system of learning and generalizationability. Finally, carry on the simulation to the control system by using MATLABsimulation software. The results of simulation and experiments show that APF caneliminate harmonic current effectively,in the meantime,the APF system have bettercompensation effect. Finally, in the theoretical design correct situation, designed thecorresponding hardware circuit, Experiments and debugs the APF prototype,authenticates control algorithm in the APF application effect.
