In recent years, with the accelerated process of urbanization in China and the rapiddevelopment of modern transportation, water and air pollution are produced, at thesame time, noise pollution are also produced. Currently, the traffic noise pollution inthe urban environment has become a public hazard, seriously threatens to people’shealth and normal life. The noise generated from operating train seriously impact onresidents, and thus control and prevention of rail traffic noise pollution is veryimportant. Excessive train noise not only affects the health of residents along the line,but also destructs buildings. In the rail transport system, the main impact on groundlines and overhead lines is noise pollution, and the impact on underground lines,mainly is vibration and noise caused by vibration of the secondary structure. This papermainly focuses on the elevated train line noise generated from running train impact onthe acoustic environment.This paper first reviews on the basis of a large number of related literature, summsup the domestic and international rail traffic noise prediction method of overhead linesand research status.Second, this paper discuss about the basic definition of noise and noise-relatedevaluation criteria. According to rail traffic noise source generated from the differentparts, the urban rail traffic noise is divided into four categories. Simultaneous, thehazards from urban rail transport are analyzed, and rail traffic noise control methods aresummarized. Through the comparative study of a large number of prediction methods,the train noise prediction methods in this paper are proposed, and using existingliterature to verify the values. Test results show that the proposed prediction method isfeasible. Then according to the special nature of overhead lines and statistical energyanalysis (SEA) principles, the author apply sound and vibration simulation software AutoSEA2to predict the sound and vibration conditions of the bridge structure, theresults for project planning, design, construction and vibration noise control measuresis important.Finally, according to example (feasibility study reports from anshan to haicheng)on the train noise prediction evaluation and analysis, the author combined with theenvironmental background values, analyzed and forecasted the acoustic environmentaround the sensitive points, and taken appropriate noise control measures. Throughthese noise control measures, sensitive points of the noise values meet soundenvironmental standards limits.The main ingredient of running noise from elevated train line is the wheel-railnoise, followed the secondary radiation noise caused by the elevated structurevibration. Existing studies show structural noise share is small in the total noisecontribution, but because of the elevated complexity of acoustic radiation, traditionalreduction noise effect of the sound barrier in the elevated rail structure is limited.Therefore, predicting and analysis structure noise radiation from the overhead lines isgreat significance for sound barrier design and noise prediction.
