As traditional energy is gradually decreasing, a large amount of researches in recentyears concentrated on the development and utilization of all kinds of energy. Semiconductorthermoelectric generator is the key technology of thermal energy recovery in low grade and itis concerned by scholars at home and abroad in recent years. Semiconductor thermoelectricgenerator is widely applied in recovery of the large amount of waste heat and residual coolfrom the industrial emissions and vehicles exhaust and so on. Present researches mainly focuson the mathematical model of assembly and system and all kinds of parameters optimizationof power generating system based on its constant property material of thermoelectricgenerator at home and abroad. But actually semiconductor materials and its power generatingsystem are highly nonlinear because the Seebeck, conductivity and thermal conductivity ofthe material will change when the temperature changes, which make the traditional constantproperty physical module, can not describe the practical model accurately.This paper is based on the variable properties of thermoelectric generator material andbuilt up the mathematical model of thermoelectric generator unit and chip of variableproperties. The content of this research is mainly about the variable properties of thesemiconductor thermoelectric generator. The work has been done is listed as follow:Firstly, researched on the technology of the semiconductor thermoelectric generator athome and abroad, and analyzed the problem of const properties module of semiconductorthermoelectric generator based on the basic effect of thermoelectric generator and the theoryof const properties thermoelectric generator. This work present the direction for the researchon the variable properties of the semiconductor thermoelectric generator.Secondly, research on the three variable physical parameters (Seebeck coefficient,electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity).Then presented its test methods, tested thethree parameters and obtained the fitting curve of that parameters, laying an experimentalfoundation for the research on the theoretical model of the thermoelectric generator ofvariable properties.Thirdly, bulit up the mathematical model of the semiconductor thermoelectric generationunion according to the parametric properties of testing data of the thermoelectric generation material. And the mathematical model was solved by finite difference method and MATLABprogramming; Presented the density of power and technical indicators of the cost of energy,laying a foundation according for the research on new thermoelectric generator. With theANSYS software simulation, analyzed the properties of semiconductor thermoelectricgenerator unit and then the theory was verified; analyze the impacts of the length, sectionalarea, load, cold side and heated side tempreture on its the properties by the theory andsimulation contrasting, which laying a foundation for the research on semiconductorthermoelectric generator chip.Finally, bulit up the mathematical model of the semiconductor thermoelectric generation,and established the TEG platform for the testing of thermoelectric generation chip. Measuredthe voltage, maximum output power and internal resistance of the thermoelectric generationchip, then made a comparison with the theoretical model and found out the theoretical modelof the thermoelectric generator of variable properties can represent physical model better. Asresult, the accuracy of the mathematical model of the variable semiconductor thermoelectricgeneration chip was verified.
