Electrical insulator leakage current is an important parameter to characterize the operating status of insulator. It needs amounts of data to analyze the characteristics in high frequency, which increased data transmission burden. According to the existing data compression method and the characteristics of leakage current data, after that I proposed a method, first use EMD decomposition the data, then use the fractal theory to compress and recover the leakage current data. The results showed that it could get higher compression ratio and smaller reconstruction error than the present data compression method, the method is validity and superiority.In order to reflect fractal theory is more suitable for processing of continuous, non-mediated, non-stationary signals. Therefore compared with wavelet transform in the compression ratio and reconstruction error, the results show that fractal theory is better.The fractal dimension can reveal differences between the fractal geometry and the traditional Euclid geometry. Fractal theory’s basic feature is fractal dimension, which is the measure of the self-similarity, we use box dimension for example, insulator leakage current’s fractal dimension is between I and2, we can judge the insulator at what state by fractal dimension. The results show that the signal is more complex, the fractal dimension is greater.In order to get better compression result, combination of EMD and fractal theory method is proposed, first use EMD method to decompose the signal into several IMF, the leakage current is broken down into three sections frequency waves. According to the different frequency bands of leakage current, select different segment length. Then use the fractal method. Experiments show that the method can completely get the desired results.Finally introduces the design of fractal data compression based on DSP2812chip and the architecture of transmission system. The SPI peripheral interface is given a detailed description, which achieve the data communication between DSP2812with Zigbee, so we can complete the data transmission.Analyze and design the DSP2812and complete the allocation of the memory space. At last introduces the characteristics of the transmission system and propose the long-chain tree topology for wireless sensor networks.
