Energy regenerative braking is a key technology for hybrid electric vehicle,whichcan significantly reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. It can make use of apart of braking energy (kinetic energy or potential energy),through the transmissionsystem (main gearbox,transmission,clutch,etc) driven motor,to recover braking energystored in the battery,and provide some energy for the next vehicle braking.First of all,this article based on vehicle dynamics,in reference to the traditionalautomobile braking force distribution method,based on maximizing energy recovery andbrake safety,has developed a highly efficient energy recovery braking force distributionand a regenerative braking control strategy for HEV. In this article,on the basis oftheoretical and numerical models of traditional vehicle and its sub-system,it has usedMatlab/Simulink and ADVISOR software to build HEV subsystem and energyregeneration brake controller simulation models. According to energy characteristics ofthe regenerative braking system for HEV,the braking energy recovery rate are consideredas indicators of performance evaluation of HEV energy feedback effect.Through different typical braking condition and urban driving cycle simulation,simulation data base to be able to accurately reflect the HEV battery charge (SOC) chargeand discharge status,auto emissions and motor/engine work status,and has achieved abetter braking energy recovery,and for the next step of the formulation vehicle integratedcontrol strategy laid a foundation.
