The detonation performance is an important indicator of the evaluation of explosives and weapons systems comprehensive damage ability, and also the premise of the design, development, optimization and effective utilization of explosive. In order to achieve reasonable assessment for comprehensive detonation performance the five detonation parameters (explosion heat, detonation velocity, detonation pressure, detonation volume and detonation temperature) of explosives should be considered and calculated.Firstly, the assessment indicator parameter of detonation volume and detonation temperature was analysed then the membership function of them was constructed on the basis of the establishment principles of membership function and combined with the membership function of explosion heat, detonation velocity and detonation pressure. The weight of detonation parameter indicators was calculated by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model was applied to assess the detonation performance of common explosives, and finally the detonation performance composite index was gained. The results show that the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of detonation performance is reasonable.Secondly, an attempt to apply multivariate statistical techniques of principal component analysis to carry out the analysis and evaluation for detonation parameters of commonly used explosives. The results showed that the overlap ratio of the detonation parameters is high, explosion heat and detonation velocity are key indexes. The contribution rate of the principal component is up to90.1%, and a comprehensive evaluation function was constructed with the contribution rate of the first and second principal components. It can be seen that the sorting of detonation performance of common explosives in line with respective power empirical value, which indicate that the assessment is effective and worthy of popularization.
