With the development of technology, the propulsion system of ship is alsoconstantly upgrading, from the diesel engine to the electric propulsion system designfor ship. The high capability ships and submerged vessels are need ed for theexploitation of marine resources and protection of the sovereignty over the territorialsea. In this graduation thesis, the permanent magnet synchronous motor stator ispresented to improve their performance, which is a useful system with signif icantmeanings. The permanent magnet synchronous contra rotating motor combines two22kW PMSM, so the drive system is the same as the control system of PMSM.The background of permanent magnet synchronous contra rotating motor and thespeed adjusting technology of PMSM are firstly described. And then its topologicalstructure is introduced and its working principle is analyzed in coordinatetransformation, establishment of mathematical and control models. And themathematical models of current, voltage, and electromagnetic torque are established.By comparing of some vector control methods, the maximum torque per amperecontrol strategy is selected, which can enhance the effectiveness.And then the method for contra rotating of the two motors of permanent magnetsynchronous motor is discussed. This thesis adopts the method of contra rotating withcompensator. At the same time, fuzzy PID is built for the closed loop of the twomotors. Basing on the model of PMSM in Matlab/Simulink, this paper built the modelof the permanent magnet contra rotating motor with the method above. After theanalysis of experiment with uploading and deloading, the result proves the ability ofcontra rotating of the permanent magnet contra rotating motor.The main hardware of permanent magnet contra rotating motor is designed,including its overall appearance, power supply circuit, DC link capacitors, IPMmodule, current sensor, voltage sensor, and test circuits for the voltage, current, rotorposition, and rotate speed. We choose the DSP chip, named TMS320F2808andproduced by the TI Company, as the main controller.The prototype of44kW tandem permanent magnet contra rotating motor is madeand tested. The measured data prove its correctness of drive system.
