Hybrid Electric Vehicle(HEV)is a new style vehicle, which combines theexcellent performance of conventional vehicle with low mission and high efficiencyof Electric Vehicle. HEV will be the most feasible clean vehicle in the near future.Regenerative braking(energy recovery braking)is one of key techniques forHEV, which has a direct impact on fuel economy, emission and vehicle security. When HEV is braking, regenerative braking system will make the motor become agenerator for generating electricity through the power train system and supplyingthe whole braking forces or partial braking forces at the same time. Finally, electricenergy is saved into the battery pack. Regenerative braking not only realizes thebraking and deceleration, but also recovers the kinetic energy.Insight2000cars for the study, the paper has a thorough theoretical analysisfor regenerative braking system of hybrid electric vehicle, and has the systemfunctional simulation under the environment of the Advisor, and achieved thefollowing results:(1)Based on the dynamic basis of the Hybrid vehicle braking process, andwith reference to the traditional fuel in the vehicle during braking force distributionmethod, the brake force distribution for the hybrid electric vehicle braking processhas been analyzed.(2)By the analysis to the components and work characteristics of the Insight2000regenerative braking system, by the regenerative braking system modelingmethod which based on energy transfer, and theoretical modeling and based on thetheoretical and numerical modeling for subsystem, the simulation modeling wasestablished for the vehicle and regenerative braking system of hybrid electricvehicle. And simulate the regenerative braking system model under the conditionsof driving cycle ECE+EUDC and UDDS in the Advisor software.(3)Based on the working characteristics of hybrid vehicle regenerativebraking system, the effective energy recovery rate should be the performance indexfor hybrid vehicles. Simulating the control strategy under the conditions of the ECE +EUDC and UDDS, the effective energy recovery rate can reach10%to15%.
