With the Electro-Optical technology development and the higher requirement of the military application, helicopter-borne Electro-Optical Stabilized Targeting System is gradually evolving into miniaturization, lighter, integrated, high-powered Electro-Optical Systems; more high capability and high power dissipation components are integrated in small room; the system is long-term work state in full enclosed ambient; multi-spectrum, multi-mode guidance, and high-power laser are applied in the systems. Based above all, large amount of heat and thermal non-compatibility problems are produced. Because of temperature, more and more invalidation caused by electronic devices, thermal failure probability is much more than mechanical. Taking acvantage of effective thermal analysis, to develop temperature-control (cooling) system, to produce appropriate work condition for E-O equipment, become one of bottleneck problems in development of Electro-Optical Stabilized Targeting System and its technology.Based on heat transfer and thermal analysis theory, we built a thermal model of E-O Targeting Pod, analyzed the temperature distribution as the E-O Pod working under complex thermal condition, as well as the thermal harm to the E-O Pod. Using a way of partial-physical simulation, the temperature of the E-O Pod is controlled through the heat exchange of the hot source, to validate the result of simulation and analysis. During the study process, we developed control electronic circuit and software for coolling system. This provides the measure for temperature control of E-O Pod. and put forward the resolution for termal non-compatibility.Through the thermal analysis of E-O Pod and the partial physical simulation in this discussion, we built up a coolling mode suitbal for E-O Pod, fulfilled the design of control circuit and software of temperature control system. This can be used as a reference to resolve the thermal non-pcompatibility problem in similar engineering project..
