Fracture splitting technology is a new kind of processing method, which is mainly toadopt a method of fracture splitting processing. Processing method is efficient and practical.The main bearing engine block cracking processing technology is one of applications offracture splitting processing technology. Comparing with traditional processing methods, itown less processing operations, high product quality and it ensure that the post-assemblyprocess bearing seat and cover with high precision. They can enhance the safety ofproducts.Many factors can affect the bearing fracture splitting processing, such as, the bearingseat cleavage groove geometric parameters, load and crack’s expanding. The actualcracking experiments analyzing is certainly better but it is affected by many factors, and thecost of experiments must be taken into account. So experimental analysis is not the bestchoice. This article adopts the computer software simulation analysis. The results ofcomputer software simulation analysis can be taken as a reference for the actual processing.The main content of this paper is followed:(1) Modeling in the ABAQUS simulation software. The modeling of the bearing isaccording to the actual size and modeling in ABAQUS/CAE module. Completing the set ofmaterial properties, boundary conditions, loads and meshing with the principle ofrationality.(2) The article has a plurality of simulations for different cracking groove parametersand a detailed study of its results. We can know the influence of groove depth, openingangle, the radius of curvature and other parameter variations to the splitting processing, andthen we have an optimizing selection.(3) The article analysis the stress field from crack initiation until the fracture during theentire process. The study found that the stress focus on the crack tip, the equivalent stressvalue near crack tip is relatively large, stress value of remote area is smaller. Crackinitiation location of the crack is in the middle region of crack groove, while cracks in theupper and lower ends of the bearing in the plane stress zone appear later.(4) While fracture splitting completing, the plastic strain occurs mainly in the vicinity of the crack area. The area which between cracking groove and bolt hole occurs plasticitydeform. Other areas of the bearing almost have no plastic deformation.Through the simulation, we can obtain the affect of bearing parameters and crackpropagation to fracture splitting and improve the quality of fracture splitting. Also, theresults can be used as a reference in actual processing.
