With the increase of car ownership, followed by road traffic congestion, frequenttraffic accidents, energy demand is increasing and the environment pollution and so on aseries of social problems. Currently, the major cities in the world, the road infrastructure isnot much room for growth, and how to solve this contradiction between human demand forautomobiles and social problems, placed an urgent need to solve the problem in the front ofautomotive researchers. For this reason, the study can improve road utilization, reduce thedriver’s burden, increase driving safety and reducing environmental pollution, advancedelectronic control systems and new energy vehicles are integrated as a whole in one of therelated subjects has important significance.In this paper, based on the National863Program "electric vehicle chassis dynamicscontrol system development project, aim to current situation of oil excessive consumptionof energy and cause serious pollution to the environment of traditional electric vehicle, onthe basic of looking up a lot of adaptive cruise control system literature, according to thedevelopment trends that from traditional electric vehicle to new energy vehicles, in order tomake full use of adaptive cruise control system advantages, conserve oil resources andreduction of environmental pollution, proposed control strategy research of battery electricvehicle adaptive cruise control system. The main content of this paper is as follows:1. Build a battery electric vehicle dynamics modelBased on the analytically battery electric vehicle drive mode, formulate battery electricvehicle drive program, according to the design dynamic requirement of battery electricvehicle, Select the type and parameter matching of drive motor, do modeling research of theSelected switched reluctance drive motor, to develop a direct torque control strategy and fixspeed ratio transmission for battery electric vehicle drive. Through structural transformationand parameter matching, based on the CarSim vehicle dynamic model, build electric vehicle dynamics model and longitudinal dynamic verification.2. Formulate the control strategy of adaptive cruise control systemFrom the point of view of the driver’s actual operation ACC system, to ensure that thecontrol system to normal operation, and driver intervention command timely, accurate, andto respond effectively, the driver active intervention priority control strategy, the modeswitching strategies, and brake control/drive control switch strategy have been designedand formulated.3. Development of automotive adaptive cruise control system control algorithmBased on the analysis and research of CTH Safe distance algorithm, develop the VTHalgorithm and stability analysis. By classic PID control algorithm analysis, design aincremental PID control algorithm for speed control. According to the design、developmentmethods and steps of fuzzy controller, to develop a distance fuzzy controller for this study.4. Select simulation environment and build a software simulation platform of ACCBased on the introduction of the development process of the "V" mode of theelectronic control system, developed control strategies and algorithms adopt prototype inthe Matlab/Simulink development environment. Adopt Matlab/Simulink and CarSimcombine, make full use of the CarSim vehicle dynamics model accuracy, parameter settingsconvenient and3D animation scene presentation, build a software simulation platform ofACC system, software offline simulation by selecting five typical driving conditions ofsystem, verify the accuracy and effectiveness of control strategies and algorithm by thesimulation results.
