The solid rocket motor that has been widely applied in the field of aerospace, has important strategic significance. In the aspects of propellant configuration and cavity design of solid rocket motor, our country is at international leading level. But the equipment automation level of manufacturing solid rocket motor is not high and process equipment is backward. Therefore, it is imperative to develop the automation equipment with intellectual property rights.Shaping which directly determines the final shape of grain inner cavity, is an important step in the process of manufacturering motors. For a long time solid rocket motor’s shaping basically depended on artificial in our country.In this way, the production efficient is very low, and it is easy to cause serious consequences such as overcutting. Developing automatic shaping equipment not only can improve the production efficiency and processing precision, but also can protect the workers’safety, reduce unnecessary loss in the process of developing new motors.In this paper, with the shaping machine tool of solid rocket motor as its research object, studies the grain security processing craft of solid rocket motor,completes the mechanical structural design of the machine tool. The3D drawings for each machine part and assembly drawing are portrayed by Pro/E software, the machine’s2D assembly drawing and part drawings which are needed to be produced are drawn by AutoCAD software.Owing to the reasons that the rocket grain is narrow-long and the internal space is very limited, the spindle deflection mechanism is adopted to solve this problem. This paper makes kinematical analysis on machine spindle component to reduce the impact on grain while processing, carries out motion simulation for the machine spindle structure using Adams to obtain the related data, calculates the linkage kinematic formula of the sprindle machenism according to the design size and the motion mechanism, draws the image for the obtained formula with Matlab and then compares the data with that gotten form Adams.This article makes detail plan for the machine control system. The open control system is based on PMAC motion controller as the core in order to achieve multi-axis control and real-time communication, employs the servo motors and various sensors that fits the requirements of explosion-proof.
