High speed railway as an advanced mode of transportation nowadays reflects the highest lever of railway technology development and economic, convenient, environmentally friendly, comfortable technical&economic advantages. Since the beginning of the21st century, China has accelerated the construction of high-speed railway network. According to the development goals stating in<medium-and long-term railway network plan>, by2020, China’s railway mileage is close to100,000kilometers, more than12,000km of which is operating at200kilometers per hour, China has officially entered the era of high-speed railway. With the gradual formation of the high-speed rail network, a number of modern, intelligent high-speed railway passenger terminals are built up and will be put into operation. Operational assessment of the high-speed railway passenger station has also become a heat topic currently.This article summarizes recent studies on operation management, equipment conditions of some large bus terminals, creating a new operations evaluation index system for high-speed railway passenger terminals, and evaluating the operation conditions of Chengdu east railway station, including the following aspects:1. Assessment of passenger service. Holding the view of passenger-oriented, from the perspective of control of passenger service, the author integrats the actual inspection data to assess the level of service Chengdu east railway station provides.2. Assessment of transfer efficiency. Through analyzing passenger flow characteristics and transfer requirements of Chengdu East Railway Station, the author conducts assessment of the effectiveness of the transfer systems and the matching with other transportation mode.3. Assessment of equipment conditions. Referring the equipment capacity requirements stating on the bus terminal design specifications, and data obtaining from studying equipment capacity, the author also combines with the flow line design in station to assess the equipment capacity.Finally, according to the assessment results in three aspects above, the aouthor gets the conclusions of the assessment of operations of Chengdu east railway station, as well as providing some reference advices to improve the indicators within the index system. Based on the analysis and comparisons of the characteristics of various evaluation methods, the author evaluates the index layer within the index system using analytic hierarchy process, set a reasonable weight to indicators, and conduct the analysis for index system, verify the rationality of index system. The assessment methods in this essay could provide a reference for high-speed railway passenger operations management, apply in the actual production, and embrace great significance in improving the level of high-speed railway passenger services management.
