In the aviation field, avionics have been used more and more widely. Hence, it isimportant to improve the ability of the equipment to resist vibration and impact in acomplex vibration and impact environment. For the needs of structural simulationanalysis, the methods to simplify and modify the CAD/CAE models of an airborneinformation processor are studied. Using the methods, the connection and contact typesare set, and the equivalent models of two important locking devices are built in thisthesis. Based on the above studies, the structural simulation analysis of an informationprocessor is conducted, the weak parts of the structure are detected, and theimprovements are suggested.Firstly, based on the information processor model, the conversion process of aCAD model to a CAE model is studied, the simplification and modification which arerequired prior to a simulation analysis are studied in detail, and the methods to simplifyand modify some typical model characteristics are summarized. Meanwhile, themethods to set the contact and connection in the CAE software are proposed. Byanalyzing models using different settings, the effect of the contact and connection typeson the results are discussed.Secondly, two primary locking devices, an A-type front locking device and awedge locking device, are studied. Their equivalent models are built with the lockingforce and clamping force being set. By changing the locking force of the A-type frontlocking device and clamping force of the wedge locking device, the influence of theforces on the simulation results are studied. Finally, based on the obtained results, the model analysis, transient analysis andrandom analysis of the airborne information processor are carried out by using a FEMsoftware package. By analyzing the response results, the weak parts of the model arefound, which provides a basis for improving the model.
