Laser gyro strapdown inertial navigation system is a commonly used inertialnavigation systems nowadays. The application fields of this system cover a broad range,which are respectively used in Aviation, Spaceflight, Nautical, and other fields. Its mainfeatures are larger-capacity, faster-speed, and inertial instruments for signal processingand handling has been greatly improved. All these features are better able to enhance thenavigation accuracy of inertial navigation system.In this research, the Department has used the laser gyro strapdown inertialnavigation system, selected one of a series of Xilinx Vietex-5FPGA chip.With theVietex-5terrace, re-dividing the FPGA original system for three-way laser gyro signalprocessing. In the inertial instrument signal acquisition and processing, mainly for gyrorapidly, according to the requirements of navigation calculations, float data will becalculated and error will be compensated. Due to the existence of mechanical jitter, thejitter high frequency vibration caused by the related processing in original laser gyrooutput data must be dealt with to reduce the error. The Common processing methodsinclude a whole cycle counting and digital filtering. As SINS need regular sampling fornavigation calculations, but the actual time sampling and jitter can not be completelysynchronized, so this paper take the method of digital filtering.Finally, forming a contrast between processing results based on the Virtex-5FPGA chip and the original system FPGA chip, we found that the processing resultsbased on Virtex-5for navigation error compensation is better.
