The DC-DC power converters are the core of the switching power supply. DC-DC converter is a nonlinear dynamic system. Under certain conditions; the converter may have seemingly random chaos without repetition, such as bifurcation and chaos which is seemingly random and repeat. On the one hand, chaos effective for analyze and research is beneficial to converter design and avoids harmful chaos phenomena appear, DC-DC converter can stable operation; On the other hand, chaotic control can be used to enhance the performance of DC-DC converter. It is significant. In addition, DC-DC converter is also provided for the chaotic dynamics of examples, which will promote the development of the theory of nonlinear science.Firstly, several ways to get the discrete mapping model for DC-DC converter are enumerated. The current mode Boost and Buck-Boost converters are taken as the research object. Their stroboscopic mapping models are established.Based on the model, the bifurcation diagram, Jacobian matrix, Lyapunov, waveform diagram of the state variables, phase diagram and Poincare section are used to research the chaotic phenomenon of Boost and Buck-Boost converters in this article. The evolution process from the bifurcation to chaos is clearly displayed. The advantages and disadvantages of several chaos control methods are introduced and discussed in this article. Combined with the discrete mapping model which was obtained before, the single period orbits is regarded as the control object for the chaotic current-mode control Boost and Buck-Boost converters. Linear feedback, parameter perturbation and time-delayed feedback are used to control. The feasibility of these methods is proved by simulink. In the view of different converter and different chaos parameter, then the size of influence on converters and their dynamic characteristics are taken as the index, the advantages and disadvantages of each method and the rules of selecting are obtained.
