High-voltage converters implement the output of high voltage, providing effective means for the usage of high-voltage high-power equipments. This discussion is brought forward based on the exploitation of a CSR medium-converter. In short, a converter is composed of a rectifier and an inverter. Therefore, the operation principle and basic components of high-voltage converters are illustrated as following points:1. Through accessing to a large number of domestic and foreign references, the investigate background and significance are systematically understood. At the same time, power devices are amply comprehended. Combined with the current application of power devices, the working principle of IGCT is presented.2. Several common topological structures of high-voltage high-power converters are analyzed and compared. The main circuit of this medium-converter (NPC) is detailedly analyzed. Especially, current converting is accurately explained.3. Three-level PWM rectifier based on SPWM dual-carrier wave oppositional modulating technology is researched. The control arithmetic of three-lev el PWM rectifier is emulated based on MATLAB. The simulation results show that this rectifier has perfect comprehensive performances and suitable for AC Drive systems which need energy double flowing.4. Three-level inverter based on SVPWM is researched, educing the base principle of SVPWM. Some own notion is put forward, in the middle of three-level SVPWM control strategy and corresponding MATLAB simulation, and proved its correctness.
