Northwest drought area relatively rich water resources, but because the uneven distribution of the year, it cause severely spring drought and harm of summer flood frequently. Therefore, the underground reservoir drought water engineering, whice make water resources re-redistribution in time and space, be bound to become an effective means of efficient use of water resources.This article Tailan river basin underground reservoir as an example, according to the geophysical data and field geological investigation, analyzes the Tailan River basin underground reservoir the structure characteristics, and through the observation Wells long term observation data and isotope test results, analyzes the groundwater circulation law; Through the research area of pumping test data material analysis, using the equivalent large well, Bolton method and linear graphic method and calculated the aquifer hydrogeology parameters, and by using numerical simulation software for parameter calibration; Use Processing MODFLOW built underground reservoir numerical model, and calculated the flow capacity of underground reservoirs with recharge and discharge; Finally, the selection of the underground reservoirs optimal operation, determine the objective function. This paper main research results are as follows:(1) Storage space boundary range of Tailan river basin underground water demonstration zone:Tailan river piedmont fault as the boundary on the north side; On the west side, Kirk River catchment area as boundary; On the south side, phreatic overflow zone of south of314national highway as boundary; On the east side, yike creek ditch as boundary.(2) According to the underground reservoir pumping of demonstrative area test data calculation of permeability coefficient, the first fall process for44m/d, the second fall process for38m/d, the third fall process for32m/d. Specific yield is0.278. Establish the underground reservoir numerical model, calculation of underground reservoirs artificial recharge quantity is2460×104m3/a; to fill time for the annual5,6,7,8.(3) With recharge and discharge the flow capacity of underground reservoirs is7154×104m3/a,6387.50×104m3/a。According to the underground reservoir storage ability determine the underground reservoirs optimal operation, back to fill positions in distance north of choose operations this1.1km place, back to fill the time for flood season supply, according to the irrigation water requirement mining.
