Nowadays, more and more people begin to pay attention to the threaten of buildingdamage caused by the earthquake. Hence, it is very important to make a research ondamage evolution law in the activation of earthquake.Based on the typical Park two-parameter module,decision has been made to usetwo-parameter module with deformation and dissipation as damage research module.The structure under the earthquake response analysis method of elastoplastic will beresearched and analysed and apply the Newmark-β method for structural dynamicresponse of the numerical calculation.This aricle made the elastic plastic time-historyanalysis,calculated the structure damage index by MATLAB statistic software andresearched on the evolution progress of structure damage. The conclusion is as follows:(1)The revised damage index calculation module can not only measure themaximum damage index,but also continuously make this measurement and describe theprocess of the whole damage evolution.(2) On the basis of predecessor, it is very convenient to adopt damage index rangeof “three levels” damage index anti-seismic goal which can describe better the usualdamage index of earthquake damage.
