Passive evaporation cooling technology is often applied to roof, for example, planting roof, water storage roof and so on. This kind of technology applied to wall is so rare that there’salmost no any news about it. Some scholars have done relative reasearchs on it, but theirresearch results have great differences with practical applications. Passive evaporation coolingtechnology has not been well developed on wall, because wall can’t stored water easily likeroof.Porous materials have big water absorption and good water storage capacity. The papermade use of this feathure, and realized passive evaporative cooling technology appled to wallthrough pouring water on decorative brick wall. The paper did three parts of work: messuring the rative parameters of decorative brick, testing the evaporating cooling effect of walls with different kinds of decorative bricks withthe same mode of pouring water in Dongguan and testing the evaporating cooling effect ofwall with the same kind of decorative brick with different modes of pouring water inGuangzhou. This paper’s Main conclusions are:(1) Using instruments to measure the solar absorptivity and emissivity of decorative bricks;(2) Obtaining the decorative brick’s water absorbing capacity curve and the maximumwater absorption by water absorption experiment and providing basis of the durating ofpouring water;(3) Obtaining the decorative brick’s water evaporation rate curve by water evaporation rateexperiment and providing basis of the interval of pouring water;(4) Several conditions have been done in dongguan, and the results show that theevaporating cooling effect mainly depends on the water absorption of decorative brick whenpouring water at the interval of two hours. The bigger the water absorption of decorative brickis, the better the evaporative cooling effect is. A conclusion is drawn that decorative brickshaving big water absorption and low solar absorption is fitted for practical engineeringapplication;(5) Obtaining the differences of evaporation cooling effects between different modes ofpouring water in guangzhou, and varidating that determining to pour water on decorativebrick wall according to the critical water content is proper to some extent.
