Pumped storage power station is one of the important peak shaving sources in power system, which can also take on the tasks of filling valley, frequency modulation, phase modulation, emergency reserve, and black-start, etc, and is playing a pivotal role in the power network operation. The best scheduling of pumped storage power stations is the focal point for the dispatching department of power system. The goal is to make full use of the pumped-storage unit of good characteristics, and improve the comprehensive benefits, making it better service for the power grid, and improve the capacity and quality of power supply.At first, this thesis mainly studies the peak and valley load demand function of the pumped-storage units. The goal is, combined with the running environment of pumped storage power station and the existing load electricity price mechanism of various types of power supply, to get the economic regulation model of the hybrid power generation system with pumped storage units from the interests of the power grid, whose objective function is the lowest cost of electricity purchasing. Then the modified immune ant colony algorithm was put forward aiming at the economic operation model. The artificial immune algorithm was introduced based on the information update strategy of the maximum and minimum the ant system. The modified immune ant colony algorithm solved the randomness of the initial solution, easy stagnation etc. The modified immune ant colony algorithm was applied to solve the problem of economic operation for a hybrid power generation system, and the specific solving measures of day-ahead generation scheduling were obtained. Through an engineering example, the input scheme of pumped storage power station was obtained. And the influence of the got scheme and the general timing period scheduling solution to the power network had been deeply analyzed.The real-time scheduling of pumped-storage units and other dynamic functions were summarized. Based on the main problems of the real-time scheduling, the improvement measures were put forward. Based on the present applying level of the dynamic functions of the pumped-storage power station in different power environment, the priority of each function was specified.
