A+K balance flowmeter is a new type of flowmeter which is designed by NASA Marshall aviation flight center for liquid oxygen measurement in space shuttle’s main engine, Compared to other differential pressure flowmeters, It has many advantages such as high precision wide range rate、short straight pipe、low pressure lossing、long-term stability、 corrosion smudginess、wide measuring range and applicability etc. The reduction of straight pipe can save a large mount of material, construction, installation and siting costs, especially for some large diameter、high temperature、low temperature、high pressure and special material occasions, A+K cost savings is far ahead.In this paper, reference to the latest America test standard API22.2-API is the American Petroleum Institute (American Petroleum Institute) English abbreviation which is recognized in the industry. Take advantage of short required straight pipe length of A+K balance flowmeter, carried out researches about the shortest required straight pipe length of A+K balance flowmeter under bend installation conditions.First briefly introduces A+K balance flowmeter general development situation and performance advantages. Then expounds the performance assessment standard about the effects of installation conditions on the A+K balance flowmeter, the introduction of ANSYS CFX software which used in the simulation research.Based on this, carried on numerical simulation research about the effects of different straight pipe length on the outflow coefficient of A+K balance flowmeter which the diameter is50mm, equivalent diameter ratio were0.25,0.45,0.7and diameter of100mm, equivalent diameter ratio were0.45,0.65when90°single bend,90°ouble bend in the same plane and90°double elbow in different plane are installated in the upstream; Experimental research about the effects of different straight pipe length on the outflow coefficient of A+K balance meters which the diameter is50mm, equivalent diameter ratio were0.25,0.7and diameter of100mm, equivalent diameter ratio were0.65when90°single bend,90°ouble bend in the same plane and90°double elbow in different plane are installated in the upstream.Finally through the analysis of numerical simulation and experimental data.And then combining with the evaluation standard, giving the shortest straight pipe length of A+K balance meter under the condition of bend installed.
