A high-performanced conducting polymer-activated carbon composite electrodematerial was prepared by potentiostatic deposition of aniline on a hierarchically porouscarbon, which was carbonized from the natural bamboo. The morphology and structureof bamboo carbon/polyaniline composite materials are characterized by SEM, TEM,FT-IR etc. A three-electrode cell system was used to evaluate the electrochemicalperformance by both cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge-dischargetechniques on a CHI440A instrument (CHI Instrument Inc.) at room temperature. Anaqueous solution containing1M H2SO4was employed as the electrolyte. The BC andBC-PANI composites were applied as the working electrode, respectively. A Pt plateand a SCE electrode were used as the counter and the reference electrodes, respectively. It was found that the polyaniline was successfully deposited on the surface ofbamboo carbon through the potentiostatic method. This active material possessesexcellent rate capability and good cycle performance, which is attributed to thecombined contribution of the activated carbon and pseudocapacitance of the depositedpolyaniline layer. It can be a good candidate for high-performanced supercapacitor.
