As people living standard rise and car ownership grow rapidly, driving safetyattracts the attention of people. The performance of the tire affect the overallperformance of the car directly. Tire temperature and pressure is an important index ofthe tire performance. So TPMS(Temperature and Pressure Monitoring System) comeinto being. The current demand of measuring accuracy, low consumption and savingenergy is a huge challenge when tires run in the state of the rotation.Based on the study on the advantages and disadvantages of TPMS at present, thispaper puts forward a tire temperature and pressure monitoring system based on theSAW. The system has the advantage of no source, small size, high resolution and solvethe current existing problem in the system of power limited life, complicated structureand low resolution. The research content mainly includes the following respects.First, TPMS and SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) technology are studied. The SAWsensor of measureing temperature and pressure is designed based on the theory studyof SAW technology.Second, the design of the hardware includs the rf transceiver module, signalprocessing module, communication interface circuit, display module and power module.Give the flow chart of rf transceiver and signal processing on the software, and designthe alarm system and software prevent interference.Again, it analyzes the characteristics of the conductive rubber tires combined withthe structure of the tire and productive technology. And it researchs the SAW sensors’scharacteristics of the compound rubber combined with RFID chips embedded data oftires. Finally, this paper introduces the method and principle of frequency measurement, and give the resonant frequency measurement and the algorithm of pressure andtemperature. The experimental data shows that the system have good accuracy.
