Nowadays, the depletion of fossil fuel has accelerated, so the development of new kind of energy has attected much research attention worldwide. One of the most important sustainable energy sources is sun light, which is abundant and clean. In the past decades, great efforts have been made to develop and improve photovoltaic technologies. Compared with inorganic solar cells, polymer solar cells possess huge commercial potential for large-scale applications due to their compatibility with existing cost-effective processing techniques, such as roll-to-roll printing. This thesis concentrates on the the preparation of carbon-carbon triple bond based oligomers and polymers via Sonogashira coupling reactions. This research has renderd the important results as follows:Two oligomer organic solar cell materials have been synthesized via sonogashira coupling based on2-ethynyl-5-hexylthiophene.Their thermal stability, optical ptoperties and electrochemical properties were charaterized in detail. Two polymer based on5,5’-diethynyl-4,4’-dihexyl-2,2’-bithiophene were prepared via sonogashira coupling as organic photovotaic materials.Their molecular weight, thermal stability, optical properties and electrochemical properties were also fully evaluated.Through the research, both the polymers and the oligomers have exhibited good thermal stability, high solubility, a broad and strong absorption in the visible region, and air-stability. This research offers a plateform for the design and exploitation of organic solar cells with more good performance, which may effectively promote the industrial realization and extending applications.
