Research On Function Design Of The Mingled Aged Communities

Aging is a global phenomenon in the twenty-first century. Have you consideredhow to cope with the aging process? Are you planning how to effectively acquire theelderly support? These issues should not only be concerned by both current andincoming older adults, but also associate with every person, every family and even thewhole society.Our country stepped into the aging society in1999, and has already had thelargest number of older adults around the world which poses an extremely big loadand new contradiction as well as drives changes in the people’s attitude towardselderly support and elderly support pattern.The paper focused on the mixed type of elderly community. Using themixed-research methods including comparative study, case study and on-siteinvestigation, the paper discussed the following issues from the perspectives ofsociology, elderly physiology, psychology, architecture and ekistics:(1) multipleliving styles and the concept of continuum of care;(2) the composition of living andservice function;(3) the functional structure and architecture combination. The paperthen put forward corresponding suggestions, hoping to make a reference for the futuredesign and planning of the mixed type of elderly community and its relevant researchprojects.In the first section, issues were addressed. With the advent of population aging,the poor living condition of older adults, as a significant aspect of elderly support,needs to be improved immediately. Based on the background information, the paperintroduced the research subject, range, goals, significance of study and methods inthis section.From the second to the sixth sections, issues were analyzed. In the second section,new elderly support pattern, named “mixed type of elderly support” was proposedafter analyzing the national and international current situation of the elderly supportand learning from its international advanced experience. In the third section, thedesign principles of elderly housing were studied, aiming to provide the evidence forthe elderly housing design.fifth and sixth section, the function design of the mixedtype of elderly community, after considering the population aging, was analyzed fromthe aspects of its living pattern, living and service function composition, function structure and architecture combination.the six section is the conclusion, expounded the example of elderly communityfunction design of mixed characteristics.
