With the technological progress and economic development, people’s living standards have been improved gradually, the ownership of car has increased year by year. The attendant problem is the problem of traffic safety. Both sections of highway or urban transport,the security situation is very serious,car crashes have occurred. In order to reduce the loss of life and property caused by raffic accident,the research on car crash safety technology is carried out in full swing at home and abroad. There are several problems such as the high cost, single distance detection algorithm, un-controllable detection distance and poor braking comfort, this paper designed a automotive anti-collision system based on infrared laser range finder for popular, environmental adaptability, low cost to meet market demand.The main contents are as follows:(1) Describes the background and significance of this research project. Review the existing car crash safety technology research status, introduce research progress for infrared laser and infrared laser ranging technology used in automotive anti-collision,according to comprehensive analysis,this paper is determined that the infrared laser ranging technology as the theoretical for the subject safe distance measurement.(2) Described infrared laser transmission effect in the atmosphere, make the main analysis on the infrared laser transmission attenuation at close range (100meters) under rainy and foggy conditions. Use infrared laser ranging technology as a car crash distance measurement is feasible at close range. And introduce the principle of infrared laser range finder and a variety of rangin g methods comparison, lastly adopt pulse laser ranging method used as the design of ranging methods.(3) Introduce the infrared laser ranging system design process in details, including infrared laser emission and infrared receiver module, the time measurement design based on FPGA and flow chart of time to develop algorithms, experimental results conclusions analysis.According to the distance measurements, it shows that the measurement range (50.8m) and accuracy (0.8m) are to meet requirements of automotive anti-collision safety distance measurement.(4) Describes hardware design of the anti-collision system actuator based on the laser ranging system,which uses special half-bridge motor driver IC BTS7960to compose full-bridge to control motor,finally to achieve the reverse gear, brake, release the brakes and other operations. Design adaptive brake flow algorithm, the adaptive brake improve driving comfort, to make up for lack of existing technology.(5) To summarize the full text, but also point out flaws and areas of the design for improvement, and then make a plan for the next step.After testing and debuging, there are several characteristics as follows:(1) Detection distance changing with the peed, classification detection and control, to achieve a safe distance warning, dangerous distance alarm plus automatic deceleration, collision distance braking, adapte to the various road conditions.(2) Simplify the collection information of obstacle, to avoid effectivly the obstructions or pedestrians of the outside lane which lead to misuse.(3) Reduce costs,anti-Collision system adopts time stretching algorithms to realize fast,high-precision distance measurement,reduce hardware cost of anti-collision system.(4) Realize and adopt adaptive braking control technology, and improve driving comfortable.(5) The system is used to various road conditions and rain, fog and other weather conditions which visibility is not less than30meters.
