In the medium-voltage distribution systems, solid RMU is increasingly widened rangeof applications. The solid insulating dielectric properties of solid RMU will be directlyrelated to the electrical insulation, during operation, if the solid insulation is defective orlead to the reduction of its insulating properties by aging, partial discharge may occur inthe role of the voltage, it will result in insulation breakdown and the generation of the faultarc if not to take effective measures in a timely manner. The fault arc is one of the causesof electrical fires caused by the common distribution system. Therefore, it is necessary toachieve rapid and reliable detection and diagnosis of arc faults that may occur in thedistribution system, and thus take effective protection measures in order to effectivelyprevent or reduce the potential harm of arc fault.The arc fault criterion and diagnostic methods, and the solid insulating medium partialdischarge trends detected were mainly researched in this paper. the arc fault diagnosis wasbased on fractal theory for the linear load failure arc according to any time the normaloperating current and arc fault current slope variation by calculating the relationshipbetween adjacent current slope determine current the mutation point or current waveformdistortion point, the arc faults occur in the line to make the diagnosis for realizing thenonlinear load arc fault diagnosis, arc fault the db5wavelet was analysisd to extract thefault current band characteristics of the high-frequency signal for the nonlinear loads, andfurther details of the signal fluctuations in value.On the development of trend detection of Partial discharge in solid insulating medium,the discharge characteristics and detection methods of partial discharge signal in solidinsulating medium were carried out in this thesis, including the design of Rogowski coil,and the influence on the sensor pass band of the number of turns and the load resistancewere discovered with the using of software simulation, and the design of front-endconditioning amplifier, band-pass filter and other important aspects were completed.
