As we all know, sliding bearing has been widely used in various fields, because sliding bearing has good stability, reliability, lubrication, and it can withstand heavy loads. Due to its complex and harsh working conditions, when it works, it will inevitably produce friction vibration, along with a lot of friction and wear information. Traditional methods such as surface topography analysis, Ferrography, oil spectrum and the friction coefficient only can be analyzed qualitatively on the judgment of the friction and wear state. Through the simulation test of the sliding bearing, including normal running conditions, high temperature lubrication running condition, dry friction condition, abrasive wear condition and oil emulsification condition. large amounts of vibration signals about sliding bearings on the run-in period and wear are extracted. After continuous wavelet transform and digital image processing technology, we can get characteristic parameters V, HV and N. these vibration signals can be used to quantitatively describe vibration signal characteristic of friction and wear status information. The research shows that characteristic parameter of vibration signal including characteristic parameters V, HV and N can describe the information of wear and friction in the various working conditions accurately the same with the traditional methods. The different lubricating oil temperature has a large impact on the running condition. Different conditions are rich in friction vibration information, these information can be fully reflected in the vibration signal which can help us analysis the friction and wear quantitatively. It has practical significance on the friction and wear condition monitoring.
