IMO proposed Ship Energy Efficiency Operational Index (EEOI) as an evaluation criterion of ship emissions of carbon dioxide, this standard will likely become the new standard of MARPOL Convention Annex, so EEOI research is of great significance.This paper selected46,000tons tanker as the target ship, and studied its influence factors of energy efficiency in a particular wave approach Angle under linear sailing.First established the mathematical model of the certain factors, such as hull, propeller and main engine. Then wave resistance and hydrostatic resistance as random factors calculated separately. Based on the experimental results of ship model, the three-dimensional method is used to calculate the hydrostatic resistance of the target ship. When calculating the random wave resistance, according to the theory of spectrum analysis, calculated the power spectral density of the wave resistance in different height of wave. According to power spectral density, calculated the average wave resistance, and combining the determine factors, calculated the balance point of match of engine and propeller and corresponding engine’s speed in different height of wave. According to the balance point speed, calculated power spectral density of wave resistance, after revising, applying related theory of Rayleigh distribution, sampled the probability model and obtained random sequence. Then established the simulation modeling of target ship’s energy efficiency, obtained the EEOI as the change of time curve, and the factors affecting EEOI were calculated and analyzed. The results show that when reducing the EEOI by Reducing speed, especially in the lower height of the wave, the more obvious effects. Cargo volume has a direct impact on the EEOI, and had better maintain full load in the process of operation; there is insensitive area of speed-energy efficiency. In sensitive area, EEOI change with speed is smaller, while outside sensitive area, the EEOI rises rapidly with increased speed. This paper studied influence factors of energy efficiency of target vessel in a particular wave approach Angle, which is more significant to establish single ship’s energy efficiency management plan. The proposed methods to reduce EEOI, have strong maneuverability, which also have certain reference significance.
