Flying swallow X-type CFST Arch Bridge constructed between the upper deck and the lower deck is a kind of through Tied Arch Bridge, favored in the modern urban bridge and Scenic for its beautiful structure, and commonly used the structure of three-span, it’s a bridge structure that the tie rods are anchored on the cross-ends of both sides to take the initiative to balance the most horizontal thrust caused by the main span, and a unique bridge-type in the CFST Arch Bridge, This article has launched a series of studies for the force characteristics of side span of the arch Bridge, the main works are as follows:(1) The calculation model is simpified, the main force characteristics of three-span self-balancing Tied Arch is analyzed, the force characteristics of the arch side arch is highlighted, the force complex of the side of the arch Bridge under the bearing reaction forces in the end of side arch、tied Tension and the self-weight including heavy loads of the side beam are analyzed. The side arch plane tilts angle inward, which increases the complexity of the force of the side arch structure, makes spatial structure effect of the arch Bridge more pronounced, we use the space finite element calculation software Midas Civil to alculate the arch bridge.(2) The influence caused by the arch rib inclination angle on force of the side arch through comparative study of the parameters is analyzed, it takes the different inclination including a negative angle and establishs finite element model respectively, compares the various internal forces through the side arches and makes the further analysis of arch rib inclination angle parameter variation on the force of the arch rib. Besides the rib alignment of side arch on the force of the arch rib is analyzed, to derive the arch axis catenary equation and take six consecutive arch-axis coefficient and establish calculated model under the same load to explore the arch rib alignment on the force of the side of the arch.(3) The internal force analytic solution of the flying swallow X-type CFST Arch Bridge side arch under the dead load is derived, the side arch torsion coupling effects is certified. through the finite element software Midas FEA, solid modeling analysis of the entire side of the arch is established to calculate the size and distribution of vertical tensile stress, positive tensile stress and principal tensile stress of the side arch solid elements, and extract the control section with larger tensile stress to analyze their tensile stress distribution. It also explores separate calculation of the side arch simplified from the overall model, assumptions and changes of boundary conditions to effect on the simplified calculation model.
